Tom Cheney
Head of Software & Data, GB1 / Athena Sports Group
Tom is a World and European Championship-winning navigator with 20 years at the top end of the marine industry. He is Head of Software & Data for GB1 / Athena Sports Group and is now in his fourth America’s Cup campaign with the British team. Before that he has worked in R&D for B&G and Garmin, so he knows electronics and instruments from both sides: building them and racing with them.
On the water, his record includes the 52 Super Series, fast multihulls and major offshore events, with class wins in the Rolex Sydney Hobart, Caribbean 600 and Rolex Middle Sea Race, plus an overall win in the Rolex Fastnet Race
