Jon Holt, is Head of Sixth Form and Outdoor Education Lead at Greig City Academy. He founded the sailing programme in 2014 and continues drive the programme forwards, breaking down barriers to inclusion and advocating for greater diversity in sailing. He has first-hand insights into the challenges faced by young people growing up in one of London’s poorest boroughs and the impact of the consequent social, economic, health and wellbeing issues that they strive to overcome. Sailing has proven to be a catalyst for significant change in their lives and livelihood, with many young people bringing their skills and talents in the marine industry. He was awarded the Yachting Journalists Association MS Amlin International Sailor of the Decade in 2020. Jon also sits on the Board of Trustees at Scaramouche Sailing Trust.
