
David Pino
Former General Coordinator for the 37th America’s Cup at the Port of Barcelona
David Pino Roca is Managing Director of Port Vell at the Port of Barcelona and a civil engineer specialising in transport and urban planning. From 2023 to 2025, he served as General Coordinator for the Port of Barcelona for the 37th America’s Cup, playing a key role in the planning and delivery of the event’s waterfront venue.
His responsibilities included coordinating port departments, public authorities, sailing teams, marina and port operators, concessionaires and private partners, as well as overseeing the integration of team bases, marinas, mobility, logistics, public spaces and maritime operations. The project involved more than €150 million in public and private investment, accelerating the transformation of Port Vell and creating a lasting urban, maritime and economic legacy for Barcelona.
With over 25 years of experience in port planning, infrastructure, concessions and port-city development, David specialises in delivering complex waterfront projects through public-private collaboration and the coordination of multiple stakeholders. He complemented his engineering background with the Advanced Management Program (AMP) at ESADE Business School.
